Scholarship Details:

• Host Country: Japan
• University: Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)
• Degree Levels: Bachelor's, Master's, PhD
• Financial Benefits: Fully Funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)

Scholarship Benefits:

• Full admission fee
• 100% of tuition covered
• 144,000 JPY per month for living expenses
• Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be an national student and a MEXT-designated country or for international students a MEXT-designated country
• Must be born on or after April 2, 1990
• Must have achieved a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale
• Must not be currently serving on active military duty or employed as a civilian by the military
• Must be able to arrive in Japan within the designated arrival period specified by APU
• Must not have received a MEXT scholarship in the past unless they possess more than three years of educational research experience following the final payment of the previous MEXT scholarship
• Must not be concurrently applying for another MEXT scholarship
• Must not receive financial support from any other scholarship organization while studying at APU
• Must maintain a “student” status in Japan throughout the scholarship period
• Must submit scores from an English proficiency test taken on or after March 22, 2023, unless exempted

English Proficiency Test Exemption:

• Applicants who have completed their previous education in English can submit an English Language Proficiency letter from their previous institute instead of test scores.
